About Us

Amy Meinhardt serves as a Director on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she serves on the Grants Committee and helps support Foundation events and initiatives.

As both a lifelong resident and an educator in Montcalm County, Amy brings a deep understanding of our community’s values, challenges and strengths.

Amy joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2015 when she became Superintendent of Central Montcalm. She has since retired but still advocates for community engagement and believes in the power of local partnerships to enhance educational opportunities and create lasting, positive change.

Amy’s favorite part of the Central Montcalm area is, of course, Central Montcalm Public Schools. She also loves the tight-knit community where people look out for one another. It is a community built on kindness, hard work and shared pride.

Bill Simpson Jr. is a 1994 graduate of Central Montcalm High School and currently serves as Vice-President of the Central Montcalm Community Foundation. He lives in Sheridan with his wife, Tiffany, and together they own Simpson Family Funeral Homes in Sheridan and Stanton.

For the past 22 years, Bill has served as a licensed funeral director, helping families celebrate the lives of their loved ones. His work as a funeral director has deepened his appreciation for small-town values, being there for people when it matters most, and giving back to the community.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Sales from Ferris State University and his Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University. He is currently back at Ferris State University working toward a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence.

Outside of work and community involvement, Bill is an award-winning photographer and an avid sports fan. He is also the proud father of two daughters, Emma and Allison.

Curtis Holt serves as a Director of the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where assists with planning and coordination of Foundation events and advises on grant opportunities that are local government-related.

As a long-term Michigan local government manager, Curtis brings valuable skills in organizational management, resource allocation, financial expertise and many other related management skills. Curtis joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2019 because he wanted to use his background in public service to give back to the community he calls home.

Curtis’s favorite part of the Central Montcalm area is the small-town atmosphere and the camaraderie that comes with the support of local school activities, programs and events. The Foundation is an extension of that support with the large endowment and scholarship endowments that provide a small-town area opportunities for grant and scholarship assistance that many large or more populated communities envy. Curtis also lives on a small lake and enjoys the many recreational opportunities it provides.

Debra Thomsen works closely with the Central Montcalm Community Foundation’s fundraising events with Pennys Way holding near and dear to her heart.

With 40 years of management experience, Debra enjoys being able to bring meaningful support back to the community that has served her family well.

Debra’s favorite part of the community is the way people care for one another and cheer for the education of all. Her favorite community highlight is the WLAP.

Doug Seymour serves as Treasurer on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where he handles the day-to-day accounting and tax reporting.

Doug joined the Foundation Board in 2017 to give back to his hometown community and to honor the memory of his brother, Kevin, of which there is a scholarship fund in his memory with the Foundation.

Ginger Gurecki serves as President on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she leads the organization and monthly meetings. She also serves on the Grant Committee and Scholarship Committee. She has been part of the CMCF family for 26 years.

Ginger’s experience in education and being a lifelong Central Montcalm community member give her familiarity with the people and the area. The Central Montcalm Community Foundation allows the love of the community to continue to grow forever, with its many endowments, which include grants and scholarships.

Ginger’s favorite part of the Central Montcalm area is the support she receives from her friends/families for all occasions. Some of her favorite places in the area are Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, MCC - Heritage Village, White Pine District Library and land surrounding the lakes.

Heather Jacoby serves as a Director on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she upholds the mission to enhance the quality of life in the area. Heather is the Senior Vice President at Sidney State Bank and has several years of experience in banking, management and human resources. Heather brings both professional expertise and a deep commitment to community service to the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board.

Heather joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2017. As a Central Montcalm graduate and longtime volunteer in the area, Heather is passionate about giving back and helping local students, families and organizations thrive.

In addition to volunteering at Central Montcalm Public Schools and throughout the community, Heather enjoys being part of projects that strengthen connections and support the next generation. Joining the Foundation Board was a natural extension of that commitment, a way to help nurture the same spirt of generosity that makes Central Montcalm a special place.

Outside of volunteer work, Heather loves spending time with family, including her husband, two sons, daughter-in-law and grandson. She also enjoys being outdoors, including biking, walking, hiking. You will often find her cheering on her favorite sports team, especially during baseball season.

Jessica Korson serves as a Director on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she is excited to bring new ideas.

With experience in owning a local farm business, Jessica brings valuable skills in understanding the value of a dollar and how best to utilize it to the fullest extent.

Jessica joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2025 to increase awareness and develop additional projects throughout the community.

Jessica's favorite part of the Central Montcalm area is the supportive people in the community.

Kathleen Flynn serves as the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District member on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she participates in fundraising activities and supports the distribution of the MAISD Education Endowment, a scholarship for students with Individualized Education programs established by Bob Knott.

With experience in special education, Kathleen brings valuable skills in school leadership. Kathleen joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2025 because she believes in the power of the community and the support of education.

Kathleen’s favorite part of the Central Montcalm area is the collaborative nature of the community and the support that it offers to help its members succeed.

Kristy Thwaites serves as a Director on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board. She is also a member of the Grants and Scholarships committees.

Kristy’s 30 years in education helps her in making decisions involving monies for the community and for teachers and students. Kristy joined the CMCF Board in 2004 after she and her brother and his wife established a scholarship endowment in memory of her husband, Bill.

Kristy has lived in the community for 50 years and loves being part of the Foundation Board as a way to help others.

Mandy McLaughlin serves on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she is part of the Grant Committee.

With experience in K-12 education, Mandy brings valuable skills in grant writing, curriculum and instruction, and identifying student needs. Mandy joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2025 when she became Superintendent at Central Montcalm. She has seen, over the past 10 years of working at Central Montcalm, the many ways that the Foundation supports the community and the school. She believes in the positive work that is done by the Foundation and wants to be part of that work.

Mandy’s favorite part of the Central Montcalm area is the community and the way they support one another in times of need.

Mark is a proud resident of Sidney, where he has lived his entire life. He is deeply rooted in the Central Montcalm community. He graduated from Central Montcalm High School as did his two children. His mother served the district as a teacher and school administrator until her retirement. Mark also served as a school board member for Central Montcalm Public Schools prior to joining our MAISD Board of Education.

Mark retired in 2024 after serving as the Managing Director of the Montcalm County Road Commission, a position he held since 2012. He started his career with the road commission in 1998 as a mechanic, eventually working his way through several positions until he became the director.

Mark and his wife, Evon, have been married for more than 30 years. They have two daughters. In his free time, Mark enjoys hunting, farming, and being with his family.

Mary Miel serves as Secretary for the Central Montcalm Community Foundation. She also serves on the Scholarship Committee and is involved with fundraising events such as the Big Bash in January and the Golf Outing in July.

Mary joined the Foundation in 2002. After hearing about and discussing the purpose and commitment of the Central Montcalm Community Foundation with a previous director, it sounded promising as a way to be involved with the community.

Mary’s favorite part is assisting area organizations with their goals for local communities. In addition, she believes in helping high school seniors move forward financially toward their future educational goals with scholarships provided by endowments.

Sue Kearney serves as a Director on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she participates on the Public Relations and Outreach Committee and the Scholarship Committee.

With experience in education, Sue brings valuable skills in leadership and an understanding of the Central Montcalm School District and its families. Sue joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2014 because she wished to give back to the community. She enjoys that the Foundation provides many opportunities for community members to access grants and scholarships as well as participate in our annual fundraising events.

Sue is a retired Central Montcalm Teacher and former Executive Director/Prevention Educator of the We Care for Kids Council.

Sue’s favorite part of the Central Montcalm area is the Central Montcalm School District, the many local small businesses and the vast array of wonderful non-profit agencies that are present in Montcalm County. Three annual events take place that Sue is proud to participate in: the summer golf outing, the January Big Bash and the Homecoming Tailgate in the fall. She also enjoys presenting scholarships each spring to Central Montcalm seniors as they transition to their next educational chapter.

Tiffany Simpson serves as a Director on the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board, where she helps uphold the mission and values of the Foundation. Her key responsibilities include ensuring that programs, investments and endowments align with the Foundation’s goals and support long-term community impact.

With experience in community engagement, public service and nonprofit support, Tiffany brings valuable skills in mission-focused leadership, collaboration and strategic decision-making.

Tiffany joined the Central Montcalm Community Foundation Board in 2023 because she believes deeply in the mission of strengthening local communities, expanding opportunities for families and supporting programs that improve the overall quality of life in the Central Montcalm area. She is committed to giving back to the community she loves, helping strengthen local nonprofits and supporting projects that make Central Montcalm a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.

Tiffany’s favorite parts of the Central Montcalm area include its close-knit community, strong spirit of volunteerism and the way neighbors always come together to support one another.
